PP Pneumatic Diaphragm Pumps: A Cost-Effective Solution for Alkali and Salt Transfer
Sep,18,2026
When purchasing transfer pumps, material selection errors often lead to problems such as pump body cracking and leakage, or contamination of the conveyed material by metal impurities. PP pneumatic diaphragm pumps, with their excellent alkali and salt resistance, have become a cost-effective choice for environmental protection, electroplating, and fine chemical applications.
Core Properties of PP Material
At room temperature, it resists alkalis, salts, and non-oxidizing dilute acids. It is not prone to aging or embrittlement during long-term continuous operation, and releases no metal throughout the process, ensuring material purity.
Preferred Applications
- Strong alkaline media: 20% caustic soda, potassium hydroxide, lime milk, electroplating alkaline cleaning wastewater, textile desizing alkaline water — stable transfer year-round.
- Room-temperature dilute organic acids / non-oxidizing dilute acids: dilute hydrochloric acid, acetic acid, citric acid, electroplating rinse wastewater.
- Salt-containing slurries: sodium chloride brine, reaction crystallization waste liquid, water treatment flocculation salt solution.
- Neutral wastewater: chemical neutralization wastewater, filter press sludge.
Cautions
Toluene, xylene and other aromatic hydrocarbons, dilute nitric acid above 20%, and concentrated sulfuric acid will corrode PP housings. For such working conditions, upgrading to PVDF is recommended.
Summary
PP pneumatic diaphragm pumps are fully pneumatic and explosion-proof, with no electrical sparks, meeting chemical plant safety standards. Equipped with PTFE diaphragms and valve balls, they offer stronger wear resistance. If your production line mainly involves alkaline liquids, salt-containing wastewater, and low-corrosivity weak acid transfer, PP diaphragm pumps are an excellent solution to replace corrosive metal pumps, balancing stable operation with procurement and maintenance costs.
